But I can't remember hardly anything past Book 5 (which I'm almost done with, btw).
2. I'm kicking myself for never having watched before this season. I really like it and it makes me nostalgic for my senior college year when I was dancing 20 hrs/wk between classes and performance groups. Not that I ever could do anything these crazy SYTYCD kids can do.Friend Mousehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10508344668185037119noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4426052636690673661.post-8440034620439144802013-08-08T17:55:22.568-04:002013-08-08T17:55:22.568-04:001. Next comes Best Served Cold, a stand-alone that has utilizes some of the trilogy's characters. Then The Heroes, another stand-alone that again has a bunch of characters from the prior books (I actually read The Heroes first and then went back and read the books in order). The most recent book is Red Country, which should definitely be read last; it is tangentially related to the earlier books but would have some spoilers if you read out of order. These qualify as battle fantasy and they're friggin' awesome. I have never read fight scenes like these. Plus, really funny in addition to the violence - which isn't easy to do.Friend Mousehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10508344668185037119noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4426052636690673661.post-77439937706462911222013-08-02T22:35:44.127-04:002013-08-02T22:35:44.127-04:00I haven't read Abercrombie. We've got a couple awesome used book stores here that probably have them.Yankee1969https://www.blogger.com/profile/08335455983772742832noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4426052636690673661.post-40164921181915889562013-08-02T20:28:07.792-04:002013-08-02T20:28:07.792-04:00Yeah, I'm rather dreading the last two books b...Yeah, I'm rather dreading the last two books but I am a completist and, like you, have spent decades with the series. I gotta finish it. It's funny, though, that I used to love this series as the be all and end all of high fantasy ... and then I read George RR Martin and Joe Abercrombie and now I'm all, Robert Jordan whatevs. Have you read Joe Abercrombie? Because he's frickin' awesome.Friend Mousehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10508344668185037119noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4426052636690673661.post-40508646956315627382013-08-02T00:19:32.490-04:002013-08-02T00:19:32.490-04:00I'm dying for Breaking Bad's return. David Tennant using his natural Scottish accent takes some getting used to at first.
I started the first WoT book not done by Jordan and didn't get past the first few pages. The author seemed to be endlessly describing what the dude was seeing in as many words possible. I should probably retry it since I did enjoy the previous books and I've spent decades reading the damn series so far.Yankee1969https://www.blogger.com/profile/08335455983772742832noreply@blogger.com
